Re: looking for info on 2d Armored Medical Battalion

Did that even exist? Or are you referring to the 48th Amored Med Bn attached to the 2nd Armored Division?

Are you sure it wasn't a Mountain Rucksack Waist Strap? http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/johanwillaert/Collection/Equipment/MtnRucksack-1.jpg The larger one on this picture... Smaller one is Rucksack Rifle Retaining Straps http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/johanwillaert/Collection/Equip...

Re: Musette bags used as medic bags?

I've had these two for ages and both came from sources outside the militaria collecting world... So while I cannot prove the red crosses were added during WW2, they have definitely been on there for quite a while... http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s234/johanwillaert/Collection/Equipment/RedCrossB...

Re: 46th arm med bn

Fantastic suggestions! What about field telephones and some wire? None are listed for the Armored Medical Battalion... Other items which you could add are a M238 Flag Set (yellow, green, red) and a portable typewriter, a Water Can and canvas bucket.. And of course some of the personal equipment iss...

Re: Organisational question.

Reinier, I am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know the Med Bn of an Armored Division (Light) performed Second Echelon Medical Service for the Division and provided Medical Supplies for all units of the Division with its own Armd Bn personnel. First echelon Medical treatment...

Re: 46th arm med bn

HI Reinier, T/O&E (Table Organisation & Equipment) 8-76 lists the equipment issued to and carried by the HQ&HQCo of an Armored Med Bn... The list is long and some of the items are bulky and heavy and would most probably have been carried in the larger vehicles (HT and Dodge WC, GMC truck...

Re: Mountain Division medic

You do see the odd Mountain jacket in wear, but none of the pictures I came across show them in combination with th...
