Re: Ammoniated Mercury Ointment

I dont know what was used in those kits, but I do know that 10% ammoniated mercury oint. was the USP standard in the United States in the 1930s. The 5% oint. was marketed but not a standard strength. Also the US Army Medical Supply Catalog lists only the USP Ammoniated Mercury Ointment item 91145 . ...

I have also noticed the same observations as did Andrew. I cannot find the downloads. I did find the listing for the new first aid booklet, but I cannot open it.

Re: MD 2 chest trays

JB Thanks for the PM. I must say those are very professional working drawings, and excellent photos of the details. Exactly what I was hoping for. I will have no trouble making up a set of trays now. You also have an excellent display. Well done! and thanks again, Dirk http://www.med-dept.com/forum2...

Re: spell check

Thanks Ben, your suggestion helps. I am a defective speller, so I always look for spell checkers.

MD 2 chest trays

I am in the process of rebuilding a tray set for the MD 2 chest. I am looking for the outside height of each of the three trays in that set. Anyone who has an original set, your help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Properly packing the Medical Private kit

As a living history presenter but also a modern medical professional, I suggest the answer is simple. Study the kinds of wounds you would expect to see, and learn how they were treated at the time, then stuff all of those treatment items into your bags. Leave out what you would not use and load up o...

Re: Update as of 14.04.2013

Ben, Thanks for another great pamphlet download. These are always wonderful little documents that we can easily make up into nice looking reproductions to show while we speak to the public. I really appreciate this. Keep up the good work! By the way, one of my medical staff just left for deployment ...

Lulu,
Sorry I do not have any labels, but if you have not already done so you might look at Blitzkrieg Baby, http://www.blitzkriegbaby.de/homepage.htm
On that site, click Enter, and then on the ARC icon.

Re: 1oz ointment tube and rope

I believe Sgt Peter was also looking for these. A possible source for new empty metal ointment tubes is here http://fagron.us/ They serve compounding pharmacies, where medications are made up on doctor's orders. I dont think you will need a DEA number or anything like that to purchase just empty tub...

Re: Need some help with my new impression !!

Peter You are too kind. I hope I do a good presentation, but always based on my particular skills and experience. Your knowledge far exceeds mine in many other areas. You have a very good point about expectations. I have been doing medical living history for many years, and even now the thought of g...

Re: Litter IV poles

Say Mike, haven't heard from you in a coon's age! Ever get that Jeep? Yes I did look at that one pole but could not really tell if it was post war or not. It certainly looks different than the modern ones, but could be 1950s. See PM
