Hi Peter
They were developed in late '42 for use by USMC Paramarines. There is one known picture of a Corpsman wearing one on Tarawa. You are quite right in thinking they are hard to find, I have only seen 3 come up for sale on Ebay in the last 4 years.

Ah Yes the S-14 ! Holy Grail of all med pouches. I too wish I had one and almost had a repro from a guy a few years ago who made flawless repros of specialized gear, but he never followed through. Your certainly welcome for the info Martyn. I'm thinking about auctioning off a rather extensive lot o...

The Unit 10 Pack depicted on the PTO reenactor (my son actually) is one of the US Navy versions of a soft medical pack. They are a "duffle bag" style design with a top opening that rolls down to keep out water /sand and are horrible for accessing anything without having to dump the whole ...

It hasn't arrived yet, but I do not believe that the glass vials are included. I think that this may be the case prior to being outfitted with the narcotics/drugs. I do not think that BD manufactured any drugs/narcotics. This is all simply a guess though based on the pics and the Ebay auction. I am...
