Alain, I think I meet need some help with this kit. Although the stock number is for the gas casualties kit (as well as the paint over), the inside label indicates a 12-Unit kit. Thinking about it today though, the gas kit was not a 12-Unit was it? Also, there does not seem to be any contents that w...

Alain, Actually I was planning on doing exactly that! The interior of the 12-Unit is perfect and the exterior is in really good condition except for the fudged up paintover. So, I was planning on restoring the exterior cover. Unfortunately, to do it right, I will have to remove the remaining marking...

Alain, My first 12-Unit missing some items though. I hope it might help! It is a gas casualties kit with the "For Gas Casualties Only" painted over. I cannot find any maker's marks anywhere. The units only have the printing visible with an exact repeat on the other side. Hope it helps! htt...

Alain,

You summed it all up the best. As frustrating as it is at times, that is the risk we all take. But, a glutton for punishment I must be, because I keep doing my paperwork as time allows! I enjoy it too much to let it get to me really. ;)

This might not be the right forum, but I thought it would get a few looks. Although it is not identical, I thought that the timing was eerily coincidental! :? eBay Link I have done a ton of FREE repro paperwork and found that shortly after I completed some files following extensive research, suddenl...

No worries, I appreciate the constructive comments! While I figured that the Guidon wasn't perfect, I didn't realize it was that far off. But, luckily, the price wasn't too bad. I will have to work on eventually correcting the guidon (read acquiring a new one).

Thanks!

No worries on the questions Alain! I am happy to help those that have helped me so much! Anyway, the Guidon was purchased from an Ebay vendor that makes them. The cost of the Guidon was about 1/3 of the price of the staff! As far as correctness, we have not been able to find any picture/historical e...

Not that I have the knowledge base near what docdean or Ben have, but I couldn't find anything either in my library. I even read through the organization and implementation chapters on field medicine in my '39 USN Hospital Corps Handbook.

Thanks for the compliment Alain! As far as the Guidon, it is a modern replica. Our reenacting unit consists of 3 groups: the primary being Co. H, 334th IR, 84th ID and the two sub groups being the 309th Med Bn and 12th AG WACs. We have Guidons for all three groups, but the 84th and the 309th are mod...

The Yukon packboard type softpack has two webbing loops on the mounting side of the pack at the top. These loops slip over the top of the side rails of the yukon packboard that stick up above the canvas backing. The plywood packboard style does not have these webbing loops and strictly uses the skin...

Wanna trade? Packboard Softpacks

I have a Yukon packboard style softpack in very good condition. There is some slight fading, but nothing bad. No markings and clean. I am looking for a softpack that fits the plywood style packboard in the same shape. I don't know that the Yukon style is that common, but... I have found enough refer...
