From what I have seen in the 1944 USMD catalog, there is only two IV poles - 7823000 Irrigator Stand and 9930500 Irrigator Stand, Folding. Stand 7823000 is not illustrated in the catalog but 9930500 is. The folding stand looks like one of the three legged collapsible speaker stands you find in the music store. It appears to be about 2.5' tall when folded and adjustable to about 5' when expanded. I don't see any reference to a pole that attaches to a litter. In addition, my 1947 Lentz commerical medical catalog does not have any reference to a litter based pole either. I can't recall ever seeing a WW2 photo of a litter mounted IV stand. Somewhere in my files I have a diagram showing a shop made IV stand using 1/4" rolled steel. When I find it, I'll post the info. If someone has a photo of a litter mounted pole, please post for the group.
As for the other article, that pole looks like it might come from 9930500 stand. I believe it is just missing the collapsable legs.
