Sulfanilamide box - authenticity question

Tue Nov 11, 2014 05:52

Hi all

I saw this sulfanilamide box the other day and am told it is authentic.

I am unsure if it is real or a reproduction as I have not previously seen the HWD shaker or outer packs in a brown paper (the ones in my collection are white paper). I have seen reproductions of these in brown and perhaps these were based on brown paper originals. I know there was a trend in late war items to move to camouflage colours for medical items.

The stock number 1463600 on the outer box is correct.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Andrew
