Does anyone know when the caduceus was stamped onto the Med. Dept. eating utensils? Was that WW2 time period or post?

Steve,

Are you referring to the caduceus marking which is flanked by the "US" device? If so, this was introduced post-WW2, likely in 1947 when the Army and Navy Medical Departments were merged.

Regards,
Ben.

Perfect description of the marking. I was asked the same question about the time period and was pretty sure it was post war. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks Ben.
