306TH STATION HOSPITAL EAST MOORS DORSET UNITED KINGDOM

Tue Mar 01, 2016 11:47

Hi all I thought your members may find this interesting and also i am hoping to gain any info regarding this historic site with the aim of ensuring a permanent memorial .The current site is in the process of being demolished to make way for new homes . A memorial oak tree planted by Dwight D. Eisenhower will remain as a feature of the new site. A small campaign is underway to try and save and reuse an iconic landmark on the site in the shape of a rather ugly water tower, the thought is this tower should be remodelled and used and in turn remain as a permanent memorial to this historical site . any photos stories or info would be helpful.
kind regards
phill
