2 litter Jeep frame

Sun Jun 08, 2008 01:01

I’m building a frame for caring 2 litters on a Jeep, it hope it can be used in a re-enactment battle next week. The plan can be found in FM8-35 but I only have a digital version with very poor pictures.

Can anyone tell me how the frame was attached on the front side of the Jeep?
Where are the 2 drilled holes on the back of the 2x4’s for?
Does anyone build or used this frame before and are there more pictures?

Thank you!

It says in the manual that the front (head) end is lashed to the jeep (it looks like to the grab handles) and the tail end (foot) is placed over the edge of the tailgate area. I'd bet that the holes are for rope to lash it to keep it from spreading apart farther than 37"

Thanks David, I'am making the frame this evening and try the rope when it's on the Jeep this weekend. I also found a better picture with Google.
