Bob,
Please note the difference in item numbers :

Item No. 9776200 - Kit, First-Aid, Arctic, Complete (i.e. w/ contents)
Item No. 9766200 - Container, fo, First-Aid, Arctic (i.e. container only, w/o contents)

Btw, Item No. 97762 Kit, First-Aid, Arctic (w/ contents) already appears in the 1942 Medical Department Supply Catalog - however it does not indicate the 'material' of the container, merely states 'container', without any further details !

Contents of the 1942 Catalog do vary vs. the List I posted in my previous messages (1944 Catalog) . The 'short' item number (only 5 digits) as listed indicates that the Item was available in 1942 and 1943, and it may even have been introduced in 1941 ...

Regards ,

The wooden cased version is pictured in FM 21-11 FIRST-AID FOR SOLDIERS dated April 7, 1943 along with a detailed list of contents

I need to find anyone with the exact same kit as I have. Need an picture of the inside, because my kit is completely empty, including the wooden dividing compartments. (Don't know the exact English word for that, but in Dutch it is "verdeel vak" )
