Awkward Intro is Awkward.

Wed Jun 05, 2013 08:33

Howdy, all. I'm not sure what all to say, so here it goes. I'm Bob, short for Robert, and I'm from the great state of Kansas (aka the middle of nowhere). I am currently portray with the 2nd Armored Division. Actuall, here soon, I'm gonna be the C/NCO ( a title we came up with because we aren't big enough for a C/O). Like majority of everyone else here, I'm a medic.
Guess that's about all.

Hi Bob

Welcome to the forum.

What type of events is you group involved in. Is it mostly living history, static displays, tacticals etc? Are you concentrating on the external appearance so your unit looks authentic or are you more interested in collecting individual kit and medical items to display in a more static way or collecting for personal enjoyment?

Whatever your reenacting/collecting goals there are plenty of people here with lots of knowledge who are willing to share. There is also a wealth of information to be found if you explore the site.

If you have any details or photos of your group I'm sure people will be interested.

Andrew

Well, we do just about anything we can. I've done several battles, including tactical s & public ones. I do recall doing a living history onc, bu that was as an AAC bomber pilot. I like the try and be authentic on the outside, but also on the inside of my gear. I've already got a fair number of my items hommade. We've even recreated an IV bottle!

your title might be "NCOIC' (non commissioned officer in charge, or sr NCO in a small unit)

You are "close" to Colorado - maybe we'll cross paths. Welcome

[attachment=0]image.jpg[/attachmentI finally got to do my first event as a GI Medic! Pretty interesting being the only Allied medic with 40 guys to take care of.. And all of them don't know how not to get shot. Here are a few pics of me and the boys off-duty.

Personally I would lose the pistol & knife as you're supposed to be saving lives not taking them :)
