Hello medic_44,and others on this forum,

on this print we can see a Wangensteen Apparatus Modified item 3610600.For drainage and suction.(on center)
Connected with a nasogastroduodenal catheter it is used after abdominal surgery for gentle drainage and decompression of stomach and duodenum.
In fact it is a siphon by gravity.
Invented by Doctor Wangensteen (1898-1981) in 1932.
See after a copy of Medical Supply Catalog from March 1,1944,and a photo at Mons(Belgium) on display.
Any others questions?
Thanks for your interest about this RARE item Medical Department.
With my best regards.
