Tent Markings!

Tue Jul 12, 2011 08:46

I realise that medical tents usually have the markings painted on them but we have a damaged original pyramidal which for obvious reasons we're loath to paint, it would be pointless anyway as you'd still see the holes.

Anyway, I decided to make a cross out of heavy cotton that I could velcro to the tent using double sided tape. If it looks okay on the tent I might make some more although it did take me seven hours.

Making a circle is not as easy as you'd think!

Congrats Dale !
Great job ... btw, you must know that also square GC markers existed ...
Ref. see top photo "Search Site" page, it could have made your project less complicated.

Cheers,
Alain

Hi Alain,
Your right a square one would have been easier but I've seen a few pyramidal's marked up with a circular marker and I thought it just looked better and easier to place on the tent. I'm still looking for another 18ft x 9ft medical fly that I can use as a marker on our second squad tent. I've got the large medical flag 6ft x 4ft which is made by "Bulldog Bunting" which we've made another 24ft high flag pole for, I'll take some pictures at Beltring and you can let me know what you think.

Cheers!
