Item # 9331000 (Supplemental Instrument Set, Fractures) Case

Sat Nov 27, 2010 20:08

Hi guys,

Trying to free up some space for recent purchase, and since this particular Instrument Case is a duplicate in my collection, I'm offering it here for purchase. The case is for Item # 9331000 - Supplemental Instrument Set, Fractures and Amputations, Orthopedic, Complete (1942 Model). The overall condition is very good, and the instrument outlines are very clear and crisp. This particular example bears the March 1944 7-digit Item Number and has been manufactured by W. M. Stanley in OD#7 canvas with OD#3 edging. There is some slight fraying to the edge twill, but nothing too serious.

Here some photographs:

Kindly send a PM or email (ben [at] med-dept.com) if you are interested in the item.

Thanks for looking,
Ben :)

Ben,
Before you sell that, can you get me all the measurements of it and as many detailed photos as you think necessary? I am thinking about starting to repro instrument cases/rolls for my unit and maybe a few extras to sell.

Hi guys,

Andrew > I've just replied to your email. Thanks again :)

Stephen > I'm afraid that this represents quite a lot of work here, and the amount of material and time that would be required to reproduce these Instrument Sets would represent significant cost. I dare say that it will in fact be cheaper to purchase an original, rather than going down the reproduction route. There is a lot of printing on the canvas, and the straps, buckles and fittings alone are difficult to source these days.

Thanks,
Ben :)

Very true....my concern was with being able to find multiple copies of each set which is why I suggested the repro idea.
