1oz ointment tube

Thu Feb 03, 2011 20:30

Anybody have an original 1 oz ointment tube so I know what to look for? Examples from the MD Chest#2 include:

9101000 Boric acid ointment
9123000 zinc oxide ointment
9114500 mercuric ointment
9121500 sulfur ointment
9115000 mercurous chloride ointment

Of course if you happen to have one for sale ...

thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter

Not sure if it is any help as you probably have these but I have examples of the Boric Acid tubes 91038 from the burn injury set and the 3/5oz Petrolatum tube 91165 (not the 1oz tubes unfortunately).

Let me know if this is of any use to you.

Andrew

Thanks Andrew. Fortunately I do have the smaller size that I can use as a reference. If you happen across any of the 1oz tubes, please let me know.

I believe Sgt Peter was also looking for these.
A possible source for new empty metal ointment tubes is here
http://fagron.us/
They serve compounding pharmacies, where medications are made up on doctor's orders. I dont think you will need a DEA number or anything like that to purchase just empty tubes. If they will not sell to you, you might ask your local pharmacist, especialy a compounding pharmacist, to help you.

Also on a seperate note, cotton 3 strand twist rope (like on shelter halfs and wall tent door flaps) is getting hard to find, but is available by the foot here:
