Medical Soft Pack for Packboard

Mon Mar 05, 2007 02:56

Packboards are plentiful at this time, so it is not a problem procuring one of those. However, I would like to locate one of the Medical Soft Packs for the Packboards that replaced the MD Chests. I got some decent information from docdean, but would like to know if anyone else knows of any sources for one.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Not to hijack your post, but, would you have a picture of this pack by any chance? I don't believe that I have one, but, I am curious as to what it looks like, so that I can keep an eye out for one for you.
Thanks
Jack

Thanks for the pic. I try to get into local surplus shops (2) at least once a week and go through anything that they may have received since my last visit. I'll keep an eye out and try through a network of local friends. Who knows........

I have a couple of these, but none of the soft inserts. Anyone have photos of the inserts?

Tenth,

There are some of the inserts in the photograph below. From what I understand the soft inserts were made using a similar material as the pack itself, and held closed using a zinc-plated zipper. Other than that, I don't know anything else about them.

Hope that helps,
Ben

Thanks , Ben.

They appear to be canvas bags, rectangular in shape and possibly a plywood or metal box for crushable items. The box looks larger than a 12-unit Aid Box - possibly with a paper label for contents.

Anyone have something like this?

I believe one of my two is marked "MED 1" stencilled on the front flap - no other unit markings. I'll look for makers marks inside when I re-open the vault next week. The other one is un-marked.

As I think Ben has mentioned, the photo is that of 9775600 Gas Casualty Set, M2. The open box at the top of the photo is a wood medical kit, 9776700 Kit Treatment Gas Casualty. Its listed on Plate 28 of the Mar 44 MED3.
