Hi Alain, Loosely based on a combination of designs including the one below. The insulators and wooden poles they screw into are original the rest is based on the practical construction methods. There's no point in building something if it isn't functional, we plan to wire the telephone exchange to the pole and connect to our six field telephones in various tents. We also bought four original two part signal corp poles which are about 12 ft when clipped together, we'll also utilise these as our next event. The actual pole is based on a old design of pole used in the UK for over 100 years and we worked on the premise that the U.S. Army would probably utilise a civilian pole from their camp in the UK but would have their own telephone equipment and insulators.
Old style of UK pole but with post-war insulators!
Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream?
