MVT Essex Classic Military Vehicle and Aircraft Show 2008

We are pleased to announce that following the success of our show at Damyns Hall in 2007 we will be holding the show again at this venue on 9th / 10th August 2008

Damyns Hall Aerodrome, Aveley Road, Upminster RM14 2TN
Open 10.00hrs to 17.00 hrs both days - Adults £7, Children £3, Concessions £5

We will be expanding on the 2007 show in recreating past times with more vehicles, aircraft, flying, living history re-enactors, displays of equipment, militaria and family stalls to create a unique atmosphere at this stunning site.

• The show will feature military vehicles of many nationalities and armies and periods, wartime jeeps, armoured vehicles, weapons and equipment displays, giving all an opportunity to see these items close to and find out more about them and the people who used them.
• Vintage aircraft fly in, flying and an opportunity to see classic aircraft of yesteryear.
• Flour Bombing! Your opportunity to fly in a WW2 vintage aircraft and drop flour bombs on a target! Maybe even a tank.
• Living History will be playing an important part in this years show with areas of the aerodrome given over living history and displays. See the British and German uniforms and equipment used during WW1 and WW2 in a living history setting.
• Arena displays, Vehicle Displays, Equipment Displays Vehicle Parade, Tank running.
• Stalls selling all manner of collectable's, uniforms, militaria for the militaria enthusiast or those who just want to own a little bit of history. In addition a shooting gallery and stalls for those who might not want to buy a military uniform.
• Stalls for the children and ladies.
• Refreshments, icecream and bar.

We will also have the magnificent Zeppelin NT airship and the competitors and film crew from the TV series Scrapheap Challenge (subject to final confirmation) who will be completing a challenge at the show

There will also be vintage and modern aircraft flying in and aerial displays by a Spitfire (Saturday only), A Russian Yak 52 fighter (Sunday only) and on both days a Bell 42 (MASH TV Series) Helicopter and the amazing ‘Turbulent’ aerial display team.

On Friday night there will be a beer tent so we can all relax and get to know each other over a cold drink after the day's hard work; And on Saturday night we have a full line up of entertainment just for exhibitors. There will be a free raffle with prizes including flights in modern and WW2 vintage aircraft, although with the old planes it's not always a certain thing, followed by a live band, which play a mixture of music, so there will be something for everyone. There will be food available and the beer tent will be open until midnight.

10th Field Hospital

Hi Richard as per the phonecall of this evening...just to confirm that the 10th US Field Hospital (re enacted) will be attending with a complete display of a working and authentic US WW2 field hospital complete with op ward / post op ward and associated vehicles and staff.
