Medical piping?

Sat May 12, 2007 09:14

First off, let me say hello as I'm new to this board. I don't re-enact anything relating to medical yet, but as I am paid to follow a first aid course by my boss, I am thinking of starting a medic impression. For some reason It gives a good feeling knowing you can help people out if there is a need to.

Anyways, I was wondering if an em medic, attached to an ordinary rifle company or so, would wear the garrison cap with medical piping or would he wear the piping of the unit he was assigned to?

Combat Medics were assigned to the Medical Corps, so would wear the burgundy and white piping on their overseas cap or campaign hat. They would wear the Medical Corps insignia on their Class A uniform as well.

When squads were in garrison, the medics usually did NOT bunk with the squad, except when in training for combat operations. Medics were assigned and rotated, so that the medics were known by the squad, but not a part of it.
