Pre war medical kit question

Thu Mar 22, 2012 01:20

I have seen references to these type kits being pre and early war. This kit is a 10 unit Type D MSA brand kit. Can anyone actually confirm these were a military kit? This one is actually a very dark brown rather then green. Thanks in advance

Hi Kriss - I believe those are actually Civil Defense FA Kits rather than military. Is there a label still in the lid?

I will post a picture of the interior. I am pretty confident this is not a Civil Defense kit. They are usually marked CD or OCD and are larger to take care of multiple casualities. They are usually 24 unit boxes or a belt pouch or carry box of some sort. I think these are probably for other Government agencies other the the military. However olivedrab.com and the old combatmedic site listed these as prewar military. Thanks for the reply.
