Anyone with information on the USAHS Marigold (Army Hospital Ship WWII first in Atlantic then in Pacific). My mother, Viola E. Garcia, was on the Marigold and then head surgical nurse at 42nd General Hospital (now St. Luke's Hospital). Have photographs of 42nd General Hospital; photos of Occupation period; etc. Typhoon struck Tokyo Bay in October 1945 -- any information on that typhoon and impact on US military would be appreciated; any information on hospital ships going into blackout conditions because of Japanese Navy boarding hospital ship at sea pre-surrender would be appreciated. Viola did boot camp at Camp Carson (now Ft. Carson, Colorado); left for Tokyo from Los Angles - Hawaii. Any information about the 300 nurses dropped off in Hawaii in anticipation of invasion into Japan would be appreciated.

My Mother is Florence Glascock and was a nurse on the St. Olaf. My father was Ralph Papouschek and was in the 1st Marine Division. If anyone knew either, I would love to here from you and so would my mother.

My father was a medic with the 224th airborne med company. HIs name was Sigmund Poloway but he also went by the name of Sigmund Bender and he also used Sid or Sidney. I was wondering if anyone recollects him he never discussed the war and I was watching the PBS special and was curious.

I was a 3rd class tech with the 107th Medical battalion in WWII. I have been surfing to find sites associated with the different battles, etc. this is nicely arranged and easy to navigate. Thanks
