Medical personnel belonging to the 5th General Hospital are classifying and checking medical supplies, Osmanville, Normandy, July 1944. The 5th GEN HOSP landed at Omaha Beach July 9, 1944 and was bivouacked together with the 7th Field Hospital near Osmanville (the planned expeditionary tented plant was only opened July 31, in a field near Carentan)

A new Article has been added to the website. This new addition looks into the use of the Blanket by the Medical Department, with particular emphasis on Blanket Sets. It can be accessed via the Articles menu on the left hand side of the site.

With the material kindly shared by Sheryl A. Scissons, daughter of Tec 5 Wayne S. Balcom (ASN: 16042874 - Veteran of Team No. 7 who served with the Group in Normandy during D-Day), we have now been able to complete a Unit History relating to the 3d Auxiliary Surgical Group.

Following receipt of text and illustrations from British historian Tony Honeyman, a new Unit History has been added to the website. This Unit History looks at the service of the 280th Station Hospital.

Following receipt of text from Colonel Joseph Sullivan, who served with the 50th General Hospital during WW2 (ASN: 39208186), a new Unit History has been added to the website. This Unit History looks at the service of the 50th General Hospital during WW2.
